Samsung's mid-range smartphone for 2025 is taking shape with the early unveiling of the Galaxy A36. This upcoming device offers a glimpse into the brand's strategy for balancing performance and affordability. Key details include a powerful processor, ample RAM, and a modern operating system.

A new Samsung smartphone, with model number SM-A366B, has made a surprise appearance on the Geekbench benchmark database. This unexpected reveal suggests the imminent launch of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy A36 5G.

Samsung Galaxy A36 runs Android 15 out of the box

Based on the leaked screenshot, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A36 will likely feature Android 15 with One UI 7.0 as its pre-installed operating system. Powered by the codenamed 'Parrot' chipset and mainboard, the device is expected to offer 6GB RAM as a starting point. However, there's a possibility of a higher-end 8GB RAM variant launching alongside the base model in early 2025.

Powering this device is a cutting-edge octa-core processor, featuring a quad-core cluster optimized for demanding tasks at 2.4GHz and another quad-core cluster designed for energy efficiency at 1.8GHz. Under the hood, the device boasts an Adreno 710 graphics processor, delivering stunning visuals and smooth performance. Based on the benchmark results, the chipset is likely either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, both built on Samsung's advanced 4nm fabrication process

The Galaxy A36's 4nm chip promises extended battery endurance over the 5nm Galaxy A35. While its Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor offers comparable performance to the Exynos 1380 in the A35, the A36's power-efficient design could make it a top choice for those prioritizing long-lasting usage.

Following the recent announcement of the Galaxy A16 5G receiving six substantial Android OS updates, it's highly probable that Samsung will extend the same support to its upcoming Galaxy A36. This suggests that Android 21 will serve as the final major OS upgrade for the A36, ensuring a prolonged and feature-rich user experience.
