Samsung's stable One UI 9 update has reached two of its most popular mid-range phones — the Galaxy A56 and the Galaxy A36 — in South Korea first. The Android 17-based release is rolling out for the Korean Galaxy A56 (SM-A566S, sold there as the Galaxy Quantum 6) with build A566SKSUADZJ1, and for the Korean Galaxy A36 (SM-A366N) with build A366NKSU9DZIF. Here is what is confirmed, what is not, and how to get the update.

The Galaxy A56 is one of Samsung's best-selling phones of 2025, and it now has stable One UI 9. The rollout started in South Korea on October 15, 2026, confirmed by SamMobile, SammyGuru, SammyFans, YTechB and Phoonomo, with beta-program units first in line. The confirmed build for the Korean model is A566SKSUADZJ1, based on One UI 9.0 and Android 17. No outlet has reported the update's download size, and no security patch level has been confirmed for this build — so neither is listed here.
Track the release on the Galaxy A56 (SM-A566S) firmware page — new builds and regions appear there as they are released.
The Galaxy A36 is getting the same treatment on the same day. Its stable One UI 9 rollout also started in South Korea on October 15, 2026, confirmed by SammyGuru, SammyFans, YTechB and Phoonomo. The confirmed build for the Korean model (SM-A366N) is A366NKSU9DZIF, also One UI 9.0 on Android 17, likewise reaching beta-program units first, with no reported download size or confirmed patch level yet.
Track it on the Galaxy A36 (SM-A366N) firmware page.
Not yet — and no date is promised here. Samsung has not announced a global schedule. Outlet estimates for the wider rollout range from "the coming days" to "about a week", and they are guesses, not confirmations. This post follows the SamFirms rule: dates and builds are published when they are verified, and this page will be updated as the rollout widens and the firmware files land.
As with the other A-series phones, the Galaxy A56 and A36 do not get the new flagship Galaxy AI features with One UI 9 — those stay exclusive to Samsung's flagship lines. What both phones get is the core One UI 9 experience on top of Android 17. If a site promises the full flagship AI suite on the A56 or A36, it is wrong.
To check manually, open Settings > Software update > Download and install. If nothing appears, your region's build has not been released yet — the model pages above are where new builds show up first.
Important: flash only firmware built for your exact model number. Back up your data before flashing, whichever method you use.
Not yet. The stable rollout started in South Korea on October 15, 2026, with build A566SKSUADZJ1 for the SM-A566S. A global expansion is expected soon, but Samsung has not confirmed a date and outlet estimates differ, so none is promised here.
The confirmed build for the Korean Galaxy A36 (SM-A366N) is A366NKSU9DZIF, based on One UI 9.0 and Android 17.
No source has reported an over-the-air size for either update yet, so no size figure is given. When the firmware packages are released and listed, their exact sizes will be shown on each model's SamFirms page.
No. The new flagship Galaxy AI features remain flagship-only; A-series phones, including the A56 and A36, get the core One UI 9 and Android 17 changes.
No — an over-the-air update keeps your apps and data. With Odin, flashing with HOME_CSC also keeps data, while the regular CSC file wipes the phone. Back up first either way.
