Download Latest Samsung Firmware - Fast, Free & Official

The October 2026 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8 is leaving South Korea and going global. Samsung started the rollout at home in the first days of October, and the same update is now reaching more countries, with Europe and India among the first regions outside Korea. Better still for anyone who prefers to install updates manually: the full firmware for the global models is already listed on SamFirms, with the exact builds verified in the table below.
All three foldables launched with One UI 9 (Android 17), so this is a pure security and stability release — no new interface features. It carries the October 5, 2026 security patch level.
These are the October builds currently live in the SamFirms firmware library. If your model and region are listed, you do not need to wait for the over-the-air rollout to reach you.
| Model | Build | Regions live on SamFirms | Full firmware size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Z Fold 8 (SM-F971B) | F971BXXS3AZIJ | Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Australia, Dominican Republic | 18.3 – 20.9 GB |
| Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (SM-F976B) | F976BXXS3AZIJ | Brazil (more regions being added) | 18.3 GB |
| Galaxy Z Flip 8 (SM-F776B) | F776BXXS2AZIH | Guatemala | 18.0 GB |
| Galaxy Z Fold 8 (SM-F971U1, US) | F971U1UES3AZIL | USA | 16.7 GB |
| Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (SM-F976U1, US) | F976U1UES3AZIL | USA | 16.8 GB |
| Galaxy Z Flip 8 (SM-F776U1, US) | F776U1UES3AZIL | USA, Puerto Rico | 16.6 GB |
Notice the build suffixes: global Fold models end in AZIJ, the Flip 8 ends in AZIH, and US models end in AZIL. Some early reports printed the Ultra's build with a misplaced digit — the verified string is F976BXXS3AZIJ, as listed on the Fold 8 Ultra firmware page. Korean models (SM-F976N, SM-F971N, SM-F776N) received the update first, and their builds will be added as Samsung publishes the full packages.
News reports say this update is "about 537 MB", while the downloads above are 16–21 GB. Both numbers are correct — they describe different things:
Samsung's October 2026 Security Maintenance Release is a large one. The detailed bulletin covers 45 Android vulnerabilities fixed by Google — 9 Critical, 33 High and 3 Moderate — plus 4 vulnerabilities in Samsung semiconductor components and 27 Samsung-specific fixes (SVEs). If you have seen a smaller total elsewhere, that is because some reports count only part of the bulletin. The update also rolls in the usual device stability and reliability improvements, but no new One UI features.
On your Fold 8 or Flip 8, open Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung releases updates in stages, so two identical phones in the same country can receive it days apart. If it is not offered yet, your options are to wait for your region's turn or install the matching build manually with Odin, as below.
The Fold 8 series and Flip 8 shipped with One UI 9, and the next interface step is One UI 9.5. Samsung has not announced a beta programme or a release date for it yet; the new version is expected to debut alongside the next Galaxy S generation in early 2027, with these foldables among the first in line after it. Until then, monthly security releases like this October update are the updates to watch.
It is rolling out in stages. Europe and India were among the first regions after South Korea, and the US builds (ending AZIL) are already published. Check the table above — if your model and region appear, the full firmware is downloadable now even if the OTA has not reached your phone.
The 537 MB figure is the OTA delta the phone downloads. SamFirms hosts the complete firmware package for your model and region (16.6 – 20.9 GB), which is what Odin needs for a manual install or a full repair.
Not if you use the HOME_CSC file — your apps, accounts and files stay in place. Using the regular CSC_ file instead performs a full factory reset. Back up before flashing either way.
Each model has its own build train. The Flip 8's October build is F776BXXS2AZIH (note also its lower revision number), while both Fold models use AZIJ builds. Always match the build to your exact model number.
